I seem to ge getting White residue on the oil filler cap on my 1994 rover 1275, I've done a cylinder head gasket twice and it's come back perfect but still get the build up, any other idea what this could be? I though it maybe one of the engine breathers so might give that a shot? Thanks

How long are the runs you are doing in your mini?

If the engine isn't getting thoroughly warm you can get white sludge in the breather pipes and filler cap.

I do a round trip of 22 miles a day 5 days a week with mixed speeds from sat in traffic to open 60mph country roads, should be enough to get warm right ?

Yeah, that should easily be enough. I know my mother and law used to drive half a mile each way to work and it was caked up in no time, the car had no chance of getting warm.

This forum is so much better than Facebook.

As above, is it using any coolant? Are the breathers all clear?
