hi all, I've just fitted some genuine stainless steel bumpers to my mini having got fed up with the nasty cheapo Chinese ones rusting a month!

the only problem is they don't have quite the same mirror finish of proper chrome. Are there any methods or products that can be used to get a more mirror like finish? Also what's the best method of cleaning. I used to use normal car shampoo then autosol metal polish.

Believe it or not Johnsons Baby Oil is great for cleaning stainless, it's non abrasive, removes water marks/stains and is a great corrosion inhibitor (Stainless will rust if the surface is scratched or damaged) Used it a lot in the boat building industry for protecting polished stainless handrails/fittings.
