Race car not used too often. Any funny reactions that will cause things to corrode faster than keeping it all mild steel?

Hmmm,,,, bit of mixed feelings about this one. Stainless Mufflers are good on cars that don't see much use as they will last, trouble is of course, where the stainless comes in to contact with steel, it will cause the steel to rust.

Yes, as above the stainless will speed up the corrosion of the mild steel parts. I'd say as it's a race car you'll probably be ok, just keep an eye on it. you could always just take the stuff apart while youre not using the car

Will just need to find a stainless welder to put some nuts on the side. So I can wire them together. Don't like compression fitting.

My first stainless exhaust was an RC40 cat back. The funny thing was that the bracket was attached such that the bracket was welded to a short piece of mild steel, and this in turn was welded / braised / something onto the stainless exhaust. Within about a year and a half the mild steel short piece had rotted completely away, I assume due to the differential metal issue.
