Hello!!!

So this is the start of my first project, on my first classic, and first mini!

I've decided its time to take the car off the road for a while as we enter spring and get her back up to scratch.

Its a Austin Mini Chelsea Edition in reasonably good condition. This is how she stood a few weeks ago.

The immediate plans for her in this strip down are all shell based and include:

• Full strip down to find rust (currently have new front end, new windscreen scuttle panel, new A panels, new door skins, new lower door repair kits, new door sills while praying outer sills are okay) but as with any project expecting to be pruchasing more than just these bits of steel!

• Full respray in original Targa Red (with white roof)

• Add in front roll cage to accompany the rear safety devices cage at the moment

I plan to do further work to the aesthetics, sound system/interior and make the engine smooth & reliable (but not faster, its my cruiser and the stage one kit it has should be plenty for what i plan to use it for), not sure about the wheels and arches they may go!

The first work began last weekend with a strip down of the interior carpets and components to find the condition of the cars floor pan! Found holes in the passenger footwell, and rear drivers side wheel arch, but the rest of the shell looks fairly solid. Will be replacing the drivers footwell too as a safety measure as it looks to be on its way out! Here are the photos....
