I've seen a couple of pictures of them on here, they look nice as they are right in the front of the engine bay.. but only if kept clean and nice ;)

 

They work the same, it is just for looks I believe.

i have one only fitted as removed oil cooler and had lost original pipe, looks fancy but doesnt do anything else plus cant have a fixing point for a spring to keep dipstick from bouncing

just double check the threaded fittings are correct for your block/filter housing and it's OK.  There's a reference on the Mini Spares site (they sell a similar kit).  Can't remember off the top of my head when the threads changed. Someone with more knowledge may comment soon.

I've nearly always found with these type of hoses that after a period, they weap, might be a week, might be 2 years. They do look great though.

 

If you've still got the steel pipe, use that.

If you've still got the steel pipe, use that.


And people who sell the braided hose say the metal pipe fractures.

Mine is still good.

I looked at that one but wasn't overly impressed with the description saying that the fitting may differ in colour and shape. Sounded cobbled together.
