A little too fast paced and the rescues were too perfect and easy for me, at least as a child of the 1960's version......but I guess it is probably more suited to the kids of today.

Hmmm. video link working not for me! A quick search some i have found! Think the strings i prefer No?

But seriously, i think it may be time to move on, Kids these days expect CGI rather than puppets. I can remember bolting my dinner to be allowed down from the table to watch the next episode and then taking all my T bird toys outside to recreate the show. I never thought i would miss the sixties!

Yeah not as good as the originals but looking as the adverts they are keeping so e of the original story lines, like when they have to drive the trucks under the plane to help it land etc, which I think is a good touch.

I feel sorry for kids today, all the high tech video graphics must make the toys seem even ***ter when you get them out of the box.

Call me old, call me sentimental...

It was fantastic to see it back, although in a new guise, on British screens...

Not often I series link something on CITV.

I was also surprised that excluding ad breaks, it's a 45 minute episode like the original and not a 15/20 minute shortie...

Also love the Stingray reference at the beginning, and the Space 1999 throw back... I'll leave my view on Thunderbird S 'til later..

and Lady "P" was a bit wooden

I got a Star Wars land speeder when I was 6 and was gutted that it didn't float like the ad showed  I have never forgotten that, perhaps I should go yank style and sue for a destroyed childhood ;-)

Ha ha, I remember when i was about 5 or 6 we used to go and visit my mum's aunt and cousin and he used to lend us his Thunderbirds videos.

I haven't thought about Thunderbirds for years!

I don't think ill be watching the new one though. it doesn't seem to have the charm the original had.

remember when they used to show a close up of one of the characters doing something with his hand and it would be a real human hand!

Some of us older members of TMF might even remember the earlier puppet shows like  'Fireball XL5'

Supercar

Stingray

or even Space Patrol

Now we are getting somewhere!

I woke the misses up the other day using an old bean can, a spring, two rubber bands and greaseproof paper, whispering "we are the mysterons" into the can.

Am i so old that nobody else does this any more?

Mmmm,,,, the CGI kills it stone dead for me.

Some trivia on the original series.

Do you know back in the 60's when that series was made, Gerry Anderson claimed it cost his company 250 000 quid per episode to make? That was HUGE sums of money back then.

'Funny' thing is, it really has stood the test of time, that original series is still screen here daily on TV.
