Before i went today i checked all the lights and they were working fine. Then halfway into my journey i went to indicate left and had nothing from the green light on the dash so i pulled up and checked and all the left hand side flashes a really faint light. The right hand side works fine, the green light on the dash comes on for this side aswell.

The hazards don't seem to be working at all, again they were this morning!

I've changed the switch for a known working spare and this makes no difference. All the bulbs work fine but just really faint.

I swapped over the flasher units for the hazards and indicators and that also made no difference. The earths appear to be ok, and the fuses look good.

Any ideas?

I had this last week on my build n/s was ok but o/s was faint and wouldn't flash at the right speed turned out to be a bad earth on a rear light unit although looked ok just ground it back with a dremmel and now fine
Worth a go if you've replaced the flasher already I spose

Right, I've got the indicators working now. Fiddled with the rear light earth and it just started at the right speed and nice and bright.

Hazards won't work at all though, nothing. Not even I ticking noise from the flasher. I've checked the inline fuse behind the car and it looks good, gave it a clean anyway and still nothing.

If you have replaced the flasher units then check more earth connections and try the switch

Where all all the earths located in this chain? I've got a known working switch in place now so I'll try cleaning them all up next.

Whenever I do any electrical problems I check as many as I can. the bulk are in the main loom connection at the front .then check the fuse box ,if it is mounted on the foam sound deadening it can hold moisture and corrode the back of it

Right, i've sorted the trouble. Cleaned up all the earths, used the good switch and swapped the fuse and all is well. I put the original fuse back and nothing worked so even though the fuse was clean and tidy and not blown it's somehow still faulty.

The next question is what size fuse do i need to put into the inline behind the carb? The one that came out wasn't stamped or labelled in any way and the haynes is a bit vague when it comes to that sort of thing.
