I watched the 80s touring cars last night and sat with a big smile on my face, Nick Swifts elation at gaining third place was memorable.

He drove like a demon to give the big boys something to think about and by god did he and Andrew Jordan deserve the applause at the end.

Now, i know the badge on the boot of the clubby said 1275 GT but when Nick lifted the bonnet i saw two Weber 40/45s sat there and was wondering exactly what size the engine really is and what specification it was built to.

IF anyone on here ( i am sure there is !! ) does know then i would be grateful if you could tell me.

That race last night was the best motorsport i have seen for a long time  :D .

Nick Swift driving the Swiftune 1275 GT Mini Longman Replica at the Goodwood 73rd Members Meeting 2015. The mighty Mini fighting against the like of Chevrolet Camaro's and Ford Capris to finish in a fantastic 3rd place in the Gerry Marshall Trophy.

Crankshaft is free although stroke must remain as standard so the spectacular Swiftune DC5-2 package was chosen.

The 310SP camshaft was also chosen, along with the iconic split Webers to represent the period. (ie. One choke only from each Weber twin choke carb is used as 5 port head). All the Quaife transmission components were Super finished for any friction advantage.

"The engine gives an extra 10% power over the Swiftune pre-66 engines as we can run to a Group1 regulations, and we use some of our new 2014 spec parts, mind you we need the extra power, the Mini Clubman aerodynamics are even more like a brick than the Cooper S!”.
