Hi All

 

I am in the process of buying a barn find mini. It is a 1986 Mayfair in Gold - guessing Cashmere - GMD (BLVC422). Whilst it needs a new front end, the shell, boot floor etc are in remarkable condition. I was going to strip it and paint it another colour, but part of me is thinking about keeping it original and saving myself a lot of work!

 

So, my question to you all is - how would you style a gold coloured car?

 

I am thinking black interior, wheels, bumpers, grill etc. What would you do? Anybody done a gold car? Any pictures you can share? There doesn't seem to be many gold ones left these days...

Black interior, 10 inch wheels in white at 4.5'' width with chrome small centre caps. Chrome grills and bumpers. Classic look!

Cream interior, walnut dash, chrome work all round outside. - Lovely

Black roof, red leather interior, 10" Minilite (or similar) with gold centres and polished rims. All exterior stuff (bumpers, handles etc) in chrome. Mk2 rear lights with original lucas fog and reverse lights under the bumper.

This one is a bit darker than Cashmere

Thanks for your thoughts and particularly the pictures!

 

Looks like everybody thinks chrome then for bumpers etc.

 

Thinking on some more, I should have stated I want it to look more 'retro sporty' - cooper ish I suppose. I would also like to use black and white plates when at shows...

 

I have a set of 10 inch revo's with black centres at moment, but could swap them...

 

Any more thoughts out there???

I think a gold mini with no arches would look great! Maybe add a black roof too??
