Hi All,

Does anyone buy any of the Classic car mags (Not just the Mini ones) looking to take out a subscription but don't know which one, anyone have an opinion to which is best.

Cheers

Stuart

Ive given up buying the mini titles, they are just so "samey" with most articles repeated every few years.

I do like some of the classic titles, Classic Car Mart and Practical Classics and the weekly newspaper types such as Classic Car Buyer.

Practical classics is the only I buy regularly, it covers a massive range of cars and mostly ones at sensible money. I don't bother with the more highbrow classic mags as I have no interest in yet another £10,000,000 ferrari.

Thanks for all the reply's, looks like Practical Classics it is then will also have a look at the ones suggested by Surfblue. Like the idea of a mag that covers the motors that I can relate to, don't think I will be restoring any Ferraris or 911's

Thanks again lads

Cheers

Stuart

Another vote for Practical Classics, their staff car sagas have kept me entertained for years. Full of good advice and its a mag that doesn't take itself too seriously.
There's only so many mega turbo'ed it used to be a mini city jalopies or concourse Cooper restorations I can read about month in month out so I only tend to skim through the mini mags in Wh Smiths now.
(No disrespect to people that own or build these cars but the articles are all a bit samey and superficial each month)

I do Practical Classics and Classics Monthly and prefer either to the Mini magazines (although I subscribe to them as well). I'm not sure which of PC & CM I like the best as they are slightly different in their approach to the scene for me. CM is a bit more straight forward with tech articles, feature cars and that sort of thing, while PC likes to do the road trip type features too, Wales for £500, Artic circle in a Lada or somewhat. Give both a try for a couple of months before diving in, but that said they both do great subscription offers from time to time, my PC one was 99p for six months I seem to remember. I'm not into the high end classics mags myself as the cars in them are not really my thing, and neither is that "investing in cars for money" type thing that seems to be big at the moment, I prefer the articles on cars I can run and maintain myself.

Another vote for practical classics here. Haven't bought any for a while but always found it full of good advice and affordable cars that you could realistically own at some point

Another practical classics subscriber here,I agree with all of the above and they aren't bothered by disc brakes or bucket seats or the odd frilly valance. The fancy ones are alright on holiday for dreaming on the Sun bed! Lol
