Hi

What with the number of classic mini's being stolen these days, even from outside your own forecourt, I wondered if anyone has tried the new quick release steering wheel hub boss kits and what their experience of them was. Seems a great idea.

And some of them are VERY poor quality and a high chance of coming off in your face with little effort / sheering force of its mechanicals.
Plus it wont stop someone determined to steal it unfortunately.

chain the seat over the steering wheel

leave wheels on full lock

& box it in

will work if they haven't got a Hiab

but if they want it enough - they will get it (if they can find it)

I suppose there is always the wheel clamp that DVLA use.

The big Disk locks for steering wheels have been proven to be one of the best deterrents, however, will not stop some one picking the car up and taking it away.

No matter what you do to the car they will always find a way to take it.

No matter what you do to the car they will always find a way to take it.

That's right.

The best way to prevent it is to lock it up out of sight and never ever take it out ever again, not never.

But that's not going to work so realistically there isn't much we can do other than conventional methods, being vigilant and having the car properly insured
