Hi

im having an issue when it rains my car starts to miss fire. I have a mini 30, it has been mentioned you can buy a rubber panel that goes behind the grill but i cannot find one anywhere.

Do you have any suggestions?

A good tip is to cut the finger tips off the end of a waterproof glove and unplug the wires from the distributor, cover the distributor and stick the wires through the finger tips and plug them back into it. Then use zipties around the fingertips.

Looks rubbish but works!

If you're going to try it, make sure to do it one plug at a time, because you don't want to mis-match them (obviously)  :gimme:

Why not upgrade to Electronic ignition once the Fault is fixed? Id put my money on points or condensor to be honest

Here's a pic of my mini in the dark ages. You can see the aluminium panel I fitted to the back of the bonnet slam panel and covered the distro but stopped at the oil cooler. This was to stop it drowning when driving through heavy water (fords) on rallies in wild Wales. It worked.
