hi all bought an mpi steering wheel for my 92 mini obviously doesn fit as they had dif rack wondering if i can just change the steering colum or do i have to change all ignition barrel and all or is it possible to change just the shaft the steering wheel bolts to

The column(inner and outer), wheel, ignition barrel is different, as is the wiring harness as the airbag is ECU controlled iirc

i thought a might have got away with just changin the center bar as i only want it for looks dont want it to function

You may get away with making custom column bushes and doing it that way
