This pump would be suitable for what you need.

Hi all,

Im rebuilding my 998 to hopefully be some what of a small bore missile and have read back to a issue of the mini mag detailing the know how on types of electric pumps but I still fall short in knowing the best option.

Spec is as follows

998+80

Head - Ported and polished with 1098 valves fitted 1.3:1 roller rockers

Keith Calvers RE13OT cam (somewhere around the 266 profile I believe)

HIF38 for now, possibility in the long term of twin HS2s

keeping the standard ratio box and diff for now.

I get the difference between interrupter and solid state for the facet pumps but which one will work best is my issue.

Cheers for any help.

Nate

Personally a filter king filter/pressure regulator up front and any pump in the rear.

Sorry should of been a little more specific.

Facet rate their pumps in siver/gold etc, its that im struggling with. Also to add I understand the filter requirement and regulator bit too.

That pump still really needs a regulator. The SU carb does not really like more than 3 psi.

No.

I used to own a 1963 Surf Blue Austin Mini.

This is true, or at the very least buy the pump from a Mini specialist or specify you want a 3psi version for an SU. If you buy a regulator it'll need setting, you'd also be better off with a pump at a higher pressure so it will always be reduced by the regulator's pressure setting.
