I'm currently giving my 1985 mini a bit of attention.
We've fitted 7.5" Cooper S discs to allow 10" reverse rims. Generally I'm much more of a fan of the styling of early minis so I'd like to get rid of the plastic arches and just fit deluxe chrome arch & sill trim.
We've fit the wheels up with Yokohama A032R 65/70 tyres. Now, I'm aware British MOT rules state that tyre tread must be covered by the arch, but I've seen a few photos online of similarly configured Minis and wondered if anyone here had a similar set up and if they had any trouble down at the MOT station?
The alternative is to fit some narrow Somerford Group II arches painted body coloured, but I'd much prefer no arches if at all possible.
There are some photos of us trying on the wheels attached. What do you reckon?
