Hello all, i am at the last stages of my rebuild (hopefully) and just getting round to seam sealing and painting the underside. i have 2 very quick questions;

1) seam selaer -  i have been using brushable seam sealer until i ran out and bought some tiger seal ( http://www.amazon.co...ords=tiger seam ). Is this ok to use, i was a little bit worried when it said adhesive? i am sealing the underside of my new wheel arch and other repairs.

2) what order is best in terms of paiting the underside of the mini? I have so far used an etch primer, then UPOL Zinc 182 primer, seam seal (if the tiger stuff is ok), then i was thinking stone chip, paint, underseal/waxoyl? is this order ok? - EDIT - Just realised i have already asked this before!

thanks

Richard

Tiger seal is fine it is an ashesive also. I used brushable sealer on all the underside seams and used tiger seal on the seals on the exterior such as the wing to scuttle join and the wing to front panel join as the tiger seal is paintable and stays flexible so fine for what your using it for, I have seen some people using tape either side of the seam to help keep a neat line.
Your order of paint is the same as I did mine, using the theory that if anything got past the seam sealer the metal would still be protected underneath.

Sounds about right. Should point out that using a zinc based primer over another primer renders the benefits of the zinc for future corrosion protection useless as it needs to be applied directly to bare metal. Having said that I'm using brushable electrox over sound existing paint as it lays well and gives a consistent base for following paints. I'm going over it with epoxy mastic, Gravitex stonechip and celly topcoats.
