I don't have my mini to hand (currently getting welding done) but from memory the inlet manifold heater pipe (Minispares 998 St1 Kit) is a different diameter from the possible hoses that could loop through it.
Does anyone know if there's a hose kit that's designed to plumb in the inlet manifold!

I believe the inlet manifold pipe is 1/2inch diameter. Later cars used larger 5/8inch diameter pipe for the heater hoses.

You don't really want it in any exisitng hose runs. Tee it into the heater line so it is independant of the heater valve but maybe give it a little bit of a restriction too. You can get size adapting tee pieces that will help.
