Hi there,

Had some trouble with my carbs. I have taken them off. Found the issue, fixed that!

Now I have come to fit them and realised that they are only difficult to fit due to the heat shield.

I have removed this and the carb appears such that it will work fine without the additional return springs.

Only that the throttle return takes up the play in the cable.

Just after any advice on the matter. I am debating making a bracket that just picks up a spring for the throttle, but can't make my mind up if it's required.

Any advice or pointers greatly received.

Thanks

Matt

What was the heatshield hitting?  If you were to undo the dogbone up top ( and any on the bottom ) you can easily tilt the engine forward for added room during install.

As for the springs.....I would find a way to install them...especially the throttle return

You need the return springs to ensure the butterflys return to rest at idle otherwise it could be all over the place, and to ensure when you come off the throttle it actually does.
