looking for a guide of some sort in removing a spi engine for my mate... ive removed a carbed engine previously but its all the stuff to do with injection... too much electronics for me to delve into :)
any help apprectiated

On an SPI it's really not that much differnet to a Carb Model. It may look daunting, but if you take it slowly and methodically you'll be supriosed how easy it is. Obviously the good old Haynes manual helps. Particularly when you come to put it all back together and somethings need to done differently (Fitting the distributor or setting the throttle cable), but they are not difficult. The trick is just to take your time and note where everything came from.. Oh and take plenty of photos. Suprisingly it wasn't the electrics that had me stumped it was remembering how the dammed bottom hose and heater hoses plumbed in. Definately a photo opportunity here.

yeah it does look daunting... and he was going to leave it in and do an 'external restore' but id like to give it a go but its all a bit iffy... we'll just have to go for it with photos if there's no specific guides about.

If you still have the original exhaust manifold on then it's fairly straight forward, unbolt the exhaust from underneath, and you don't need to remove the injection system from the engine, just unplug the fuel lines, and the loom and take it out in one.
