Hi guys
What additive do you use in your engines that have not had the hardened seats fitted????
And how often.
Also I know a bloke that kept classic motorbikes And he swore by them lead balls that you dangle in the tank😧 what do you all think ?
Regards.

I doubt if you put a lead ball in the tank it will release lead in the fuel....

Plenty of additives that use manganese or potassium instead

Or you could buy tetraboos which is the proper stuff

+1 for Castrol Valvemaster

Lead balls are just snake oil. Don't go there if you want to keep your cylinder head in good condition.

I use the Castrol valvemaster plus which has some octane boost too.

Them lead balls are total nonsense, the fact the guy selling them bullpoop spitfire ht lead sets at shows sells them tells me all I need to know!

+1 for valvemaster.

If you don't do much milage and don't push the engine they will run for several thousand miles with the "Lear memory" in the valve seats. That's what the vendors of the lead balls rely on, by the time your valve seats fail you will have forgotten where the lead balls came from, or at least no longer have any proof of purchase!
