It comes out where the plate is removed, but may be rusted onto the bearings.

Is the subframe out the car?

Just did the same two weeks ago. It took a crowbar to lever against the body and push the rear end of the shaft forward whilst tapping the other end to get it moving. Oh yes, and a deal of knuckle skin. Might have helped to put the forward nut on a turn or two to lever forward with, but I only just thought of that...

It may well turn on the bearings, but be stuck to the inner part.

There's a washer behind the diamond plate, is that out?

Are you trying to save the pin?

I wonder if you could put the nut on and attach a puller?

That sounds like a good idea! Mine came out with the crowbar on the rear end of the shaft, but yes, with the nut on the front end it may give extra leverage.

Cheers, Steve.

Have you removed the Trumpet yet? If this is still in place it will load the pin and it will be hard to remove.

If you have, then sounds like the pin is worn and getting stuck in the bearings. You can get a tyre lever between the car body and the pin to give it a start.

The needle rollers are in a cage and the cage rusts in the arm when I done mine I warmed the bearing up and it fell apart then it's easier the warm the cage again the prize it out.
Clean it all up and press the new bearing in until it's flush with the end , no further.
Jobs a goodun.
Oh yes and just buy a new kit they are about £12. Don't try reusing old parts it ain't worth it.
