It's the rebound buffer.

Hi;

I am now working on the front of my project, due to time I am not planning on removing the Engine and Subframe before the MOT so it will be a Cats Lick and a Promise until next winter?

Having a look around some of the Engine Rubbers may need replacing though.

Whilst starting to clean up the RH side I noticed an odd piece of what appears to be rubber sticking out, I am pointing to it it the picture below, is this some kind of Bump Stop under the Suspension Arm (Sorry for the wrong terminology?) and is it knackered?

Looks like a bump-stop thats come off its backing. The backing plate comes off by undoing the crosshead screw just under your finger. WD40 and impact drivers are useful here.

Thanks -  I am guessing I'll need to lower the Car to lift the Suspension Arm to free the Bump Stop or jack up the Hub?

Yes! you need to get the top arm to move away from rebound and further into bump. This allows you to get the stop out and fit a new one.

A-Cell is right, and yes, you need to take the load off it to get it out.
