Like the title says.  I've looked and looked, but to no avail, so I humbly turn to the experts here at The Forum!  My early type indicators are rusty and in need of replacement.  I like the look of the early indicators more than the late types, but the later type seems a bit more weather proof, being plastic and all.  I know the screw holes are different, but is the "main hole" bigger for the later type, or about the same?

Thanks all!

Oh, and just so there's no confusion, I no longer have the mini in my avatar.  It would be easy to compare if I did!

The newer all plastic ones , that I have just fitted , needed a bigger hole (I needed to open the hole up , quite a bit)

how ever there are several types , so contact the person selling them & get a measurement , to be certain

I wonder if the land rover ones are smaller ?

Thanks for the answer.  That's kind of what I figured.  Maybe I'll just try weather proofing some new early type indicators as best I can.

Dont remember it being much hassle on my 86 mini. Had to drill a new hole or two. Later ones with screw lenses are loads better than the chrome insert type in terms of maintainence and fiddlyness

Hmmm...now I'm wondering again.  Didn't 86 already have the larger plastic ones?  Or was that 87?

I fitted early ones to my 93 Sprite, they fitted straight on with no modification. I've also had no problems with water ingress or rusting out in the 7 years they have been on the car. I think the older style look a lot better than the y newer type, especially when fitted with glass lenses.

Yes.  Hard to argue that.  The early types do look better!

I'm looking at doing this exact same thing. Did you just grab a set from Minispares?

Yes they came from MiniSpares. I fitted them with some NOS Lucas clear glass lenses and orange bulbs
