Rear Subframe Rear Mount

I would like some advice. Originally i was gpimg to use a rear beam. However, ive been considering going back to the subframe.
Originally, where the rear subframe mounts to the boot floor, i spot welded a 3mm sheet of steel to the underside. This was to replace the valance closing panel, an idea i stole of someone i know. However, now i want to go back to the subframe im mot sure.
If i welded the 2 boot floor to wheel arch brackets on, would this be suffiecient? Or would the plate need to be removed amd the proper panel put on? (not something i want to do, i would probably have to get a whole new corner.)
Thanks

I can't see why what you have done wouldn't be sufficient. If you have a 3mm plate of reasonable size (ie a good size and shape to act as a load spreader) which you will drill through for the bolts, and so you end up with the wheel arch to boot floor mount / bracket and this 3mm plate between bolts and trunnion then surely that must be stronger than what is originally there?

I cannot see any issues there to be honest. I take it the 3mm plate has been welded to the underside of the boot floor?? If so once you have added the subframe mounting bracket to the wheel arch then you will have the best part of 5mm of steel, more than enough strength wise.

As said, a picture will call it either way, but by your description so far it sounds fine.
