Hi folks. I have a GB alloy which is fine except for the fact that part of the protruding lip at the centre hole, where the centre cap pushes into, has been damaged (a chunk is missing out of it). This won't affect the wheel in any way but does look unsightly. I was wondering what would be a good way to repair it - thinking maybe chemical metal or similar, and that I could use the centre cap to build around.

Anyone got any experience of doing something like this and has any advice of a good material to use, and / or any tips?

Cheers!

Chemical metal will work but have a look around for a local engineering workshop. My local repairs just about anything and Alloy wheels as well.

Agreed, well worth ringing round alloy wheel specialists and getting some quotes.

I wouldn't mind betting that the cost would be quite reasonable and also permanent too

you could also get it alloy welded and shape it to suit

Tig, you'd be laughing in s'Ozzle with the brewery, but dairy farmers are also usually clued up for welding ally.
