wanting to change a few parts on my 1989 mini thirty, just wondering if a mk1 style grill will fit onto the original front panel or will i have to buy a different panel for it to fit flush.

Yes the mk1 grill will fit into your original panel

Here is a '97 car with a Mk.1 grille. You just have to remove the lip which is spot welded onto the bonnet. You will notice that we removed the wheel arch extensions so it looks even more 'retro'. It was my Grandson's first car, now sold.
