Been driving around for 12 months now using 1/2 leather Rover 200 seats, they were, I thought quite brilliant......UNTIL I got leather seats out of an ALPHA ROMEO........THESE are just TOO comfortable and TOO COOL not to mention.....

A nice pair of Recaro seats, or SPI mayfair velour seats IMO.

Which Alpha? I've fitted GTV seats and they are great.

How do seats fit from other cars? Ie, is there a lot of work to be done or will the 'universal' seat sliders be all I need?

Yes, Cobra seat subframes. Rover 800 vitesse recaro seats fit, but won't slide past the bins.

Yes nice seats. Shame I sold them really, but I need the money at the time, and the space in my bedroom.
