So today I was making some opening side windows in polycarbonate, from some race car windows I brought off a member. Basically I took the glass out of the frames, cut the poly down to size and put it in the frame.

As the windows were from a race car they have names and some residue on. Any ideas on how can I remove this and make then stay clear?

A hair dryer should enable you to peel them off.

What did you use to cut the window without scratching it?

isopropyl alcohol is what we use in work when removing vinyl, make sure you go for 99% stuff and from a reputable dealer as there is a lot of watered down stuff being sold. A heat gun or hair dryer will suffice and then use the alcahol with a microfiber cloth or something and it should leave nothing behind.

Ah sweet! Will give it a go!

I just clamped the poly windows to the glass and used a jigsaw to cut the poly to the exact shape of the glass, so I knew it would fit. I just put an old towel down on the metal workbench

Or acetone, but try on a spare piece first

I find lighter fluid is pretty universal at removing sticker residue.

might want to try it somewhere inconspicuous first though
