As the windows were from a race car they have names and some residue on. Any ideas on how can I remove this and make then stay clear?

Cheers,
Will

A hair dryer should enable you to peel them off.

isopropyl alcohol is what we use in work when removing vinyl, make sure you go for 99% stuff and from a reputable dealer as there is a lot of watered down stuff being sold. A heat gun or hair dryer will suffice and then use the alcahol with a microfiber cloth or something and it should leave nothing behind.

I just clamped the poly windows to the glass and used a jigsaw to cut the poly to the exact shape of the glass, so I knew it would fit. I just put an old towel down on the metal workbenchWhat did you use to cut the window without scratching it?

WD40
Or acetone, but try on a spare piece first

I find lighter fluid is pretty universal at removing sticker residue.
might want to try it somewhere inconspicuous first though
