Hi all..

Well, we made a start on our little 850... we bought it as a wreck with a spare shell a little while back.

After our first build, we thought we better do it all again and be a little more adventurous this time and all for the aim to learn more. My son has decided he would like to get involved this time also so Im pretty chuffed with that...

Well.. here she is...

Besides the front end damage, its a neat little car with a great interior and lots of potential. We got a spare shell with it and I plan to get most of the parts I can from it for both the 850 and the cooper... This is my first real go at ripping things apart to this level so its all a learning process..

So my first job was to try and get the front clip off the parts car.. so out with the drill and start drilling...

We ended up with this after a couple of afternoons...

We then got cracking on the 850 and took the front off it to have a good look at the damage..

Well that was the last few days... I will get onto unpicking the scuttle and working out how to get the A panels off.... I hope to get back to it in about a week...

Cheers

I wouldn't mind a standard Mk1 850 or something, just for the fun of it!

You hit the nail on the head.... just for the fun of it mate... and that they are... I must admit.. im a bit hooked on these little things now.... and I really luv the Mk1's

When we started our first mini, the Mrs said she would luv three mini's, like the italian job... I laughed and said "no way" so the joke is on me now... this is #2, and the cooper in the shed waiting its turn is #3... and yes, red, white and blue... lol... not quite the italian job but will be quite a site rolling down the road together....

One at a time mate....

Cheers

Wow! I'd love to be able to watch a series like that - Monaros, Falcons, Toranas - I'd be in heaven!

I'd take your Torana just as it is  =]

Not a big update but got the scuttle off...

Looks to be an original car anyway..... no patches or other repairs but there is enough damage to keep me busy....

Thats it for this time home..... will work on the A panels when I get back from work next time...

Hi all..

Not done much due to lack of time but managed to try out my drilling skills....

20150706_142127_zpsdo6garlj.jpg

I had a play at trying to get the inner wing off... I got there but only to find the damage on the left side a little worse than expected....  Thanks to Ratty's advice I will do some measuring next time home to make sure the bits that need to be square are...

Learning lots so all good...

Cheers
