Due to work commitments, I’ve regrettably decided to sell my 998 turbo project. I had it running on the road briefly naturally aspirated for about 100 miles but just haven’t got the time available that I want to put into it. I’ll be braking the car for parts with everything available, unsure of the best way to sell the shell i.e rolling with sub frames and wheels or on its own etc. However, the following parts are not fitted or i’ve removed already:
998 fully stripped and rebuilt engine: This can come complete with benross 12G940 head or without. Has only covered 100 miles since rebuild.
- 998 Morspeed A+ block, bored +30 and pocketed for 12G940 head
- Powermax pistons possibly (couldn’t find any numbers on them which gave me any relevant information)
- Wedged and cross drilled crank
- MG metro cam and new followers
- New waterpump, smaller pulley to clear head (100 miles from new)
- Metro turbo oil pump modified to suit and extra fixing hole drilled and tapped in block (100 miles from new)
- New mains +10, Big ends +10 (100 miles from new)
- Verto performance clutch cover C-AEG485, performance clutch plate C-AHT596 (100 miles from new)
- Duplex chain and rota slide steel gear set (100 miles from new)
- Clutch arm, slave cylinder and braided hose (100 miles from new)
- Gearbox stripped, rebuilt using genuine rover baulk rings, new roller double bearing, central oil pickup (100 miles from new)
- Minispares x-pin diff (100 miles from new)
- 3.44 CWP
- 1275 timing cover to utilise breather and flywheel breather added as tappet chest breather removed
- All gaskets replaced
There is probably more, but that’s what I can remember off of the top of my head, endless receipts for all the parts bought. If enough interest in individual parts I will consider splitting. I’m unsure on what to value this? It’s ran with no issues n/a for 100 miles. Pulled fairly well considering it was built with the intention of turbo use and 8.5:1 compression ratio.
Benross cylinder head – covered 100 miles naturally aspirated = £500
Spec as followed:
26ccs in the combustion chamber
inlet valves are 33mm plasma nitride 214N stainless race valves
29.5mm plasma nitride 214N stainless race valves
manganise valve guides, Dupont top quality seals
fully ported, for optimum flow and gas speed
3angled seats on the inlets
45degree seats exhaust with satellite hardened inserts for unleaded fuel
Hasterloy inner retainer spring retainers
180 pound double race valves coping with lifts of 0.570" and revs +8000rpm with no valve bounce
Air filter pipework – new, unused = £10
Maniflow 2” link pipe and back box – used but good condition = £50
TIM gauges – All new, Electric water temp, Amps, Boost (1 bar,) Mechanical oil pressure. All boxed, all be it some boxes a little old = £25 each posted
Alloy fuel tank – used for 100 miles, outlet, return and overflow. Possibly has an internal swirl pot? = £100
Minisport 7.9” gold alloy calipers with vented discs – Covered 100 miles = £300

I am open to offers on all items, but no major rush to sell.
