Does anyone know if there are stainless steel wheel nuts available for superlite 12x5" wheels?

 

At the moment I have chrome ones and I am coming to the conclusion that I hate chrome. It just flakes off after a while!

 

The thread is 3/8" and I believe they have a 60° cone.

I'd avoid stainless nuts on steel studs. I don't think there are any available anyway, but you don't want to be winding a stainless nut onto a steel bolt.

Didn't think of that! In which case galvanized would be the best i'm guessing... but the suppliers only seem to have chrome or stainless steel.

Galvanised ones would look horrid and they would rust just as bad as chrome ones if your taking them on and off a lot as the coating will get scratched

I've had minispares chrome nuts on my GB's for a few months now with the wheels being on and off alot, so far no sign of any issues - seem like well made nuts. CN4 for me, which is a radiused taper nut, but they will have 60Deg taper ones too I'm sure. The way I see it at around £18 a set, if I had to replace them every year or two it's not too bad!

you can use Stainless but there is a particular Grade of it.

 

Go to a Wheel Nut Manufacturer, they are usually reasonably priced.
