Now I know this may seem a bit cheapskate but please read on

Checked my mini thoroughly pre l2b and again tonight. Not used since l2b so about 575 miles between checks

Track rod end rubber has split. So do I just replace the rubber and not disturb the tracking or replace the whole track rod end and reset the tracking? Anyone replaced the rubber cover successfully? Does it last? Not bothered really about the cost but want the car back on the road as quick as possible. I don't think the rubber has been split long enough to cause and significant wear

Cheers

If no dirt has gotten in and you can get a replacement rubber (hopefully a decent one), then sure, no that's a fine solution.
