Hi guys
This is probably a real easy one, I have just had a full respray and bought a leather fuel bib. I am guessing the bib fits under the seal from the filler neck to the body, this seal is extremely tight and I don't want to damage either it or the fresh paint! Anybody know of an easy way to get the bib under the seal??

Cheers guys!

They normally just fit over the neck.  The seal is actually a grommet and runs right through the panel, you won't be able to pull it up and slip anything under it.

Exactly as dan said.. the bib kinda just slides on, and depending on quality some just flap around in the wind.. kinda annoying at times! Lol

that's great guys thanks, I might look at gluing it to the rubber seal because it will do my swede in flapping around! I was more concerned about it getting nicked to be honest, better get some decent glue!

One of the lads local to me fitted one to his newly sprayed car and it marked the paint quite badly over half a year. It was a rubber one on a white car and the car was used a daily so might be different to yours, but I thought it was worth mentioning just in case.

Cheers buddy, I have bought a leather one and cut a plastic backing as though that might happen

its not a problem when filling up, I have an aftermarket Aston fuel cap that leaks from time to time when tank full, its only a drip but don't want it on my new paint!

Aren't you supposed to keep the original locking cap even with these aftermarket flip caps. I know my model did.

Depends on the cap, some are just covers designed to be used with the original cap but most are complete replacements.

I had a few, one where the whole thing came off when un-locked, and one with an internal seperate smaller cap where the main flip cap stayed on. Both sealed though.
