Hi

I did a test for if my new Minispare calipers today. They are fitting inside some Dunlop D1s. Went on ok and so did the wheel but the wheel weigjts run on the top of caliper. Has anyone else had this? Did you sand off the top of the caliper?

Move the weights. Why take material off a safety item for the sake of changing the position of the weights.

Id rather mark my rim with a knock on weight than think about touching the caliper with a file sander grinder....whatever tool.

Not personally had this yet but know some who have. I wouldn't recommend modifying the caliper. Probably best to get the wheels re balanced with the weights clipped to the inside of the rim rather that the stick on ones. Out of interest (as I will shortly be changing to 7.5 cooper s brakes and have rep D1s) Are you using the standard 7.5 calipers and are the D1s reps or originals?

Fair enough. I bought the Minispares 8.4 to 7.5 conversion kit. I can dig out the exact details if you want them.

Incidentally, it was only minor shave I was referring to not taking great chunks out of the caliper but I take your point.

It has always been a problem with alloy wheels on 7.5" 'S' brakes. Just put the weights on the outside.
