Does anybody know what date the last 1275 GT was built ? I have just purchased a GT myself and it is registered 1/12/1980 and from what i can find out online 1980 was the year they stopped production .

Just wondered if it was one of the last ones they built ?

Thanks in advance  :D

It doesn't make me cringe but it hurts pretty bad.

Can't help with a date, but I know it was in 1980, though something tells me it was March.

Along with the Clubman saloon and estate, the 1275GT was phased out on the introduction of the Metro in August 1980 (final chassis no. was XE2D200 744571 & total production was 110,673)....the price was too close to overlapping the new 1.3 Metros so sadly only the cheaper Mini saloons remained in production.

As with many final production cars stock remained on sale in showrooms for several months after manufacture stopped, so yours could well be one of the last sold or surviving to present day. A further incentive to restore to its former glory!

Great project, I have seen A and Y registered GT's but the production date would be the important date. Keep us updated with progress.
