Hi,

My mini now has a diagonal split brake system.

But I'm putting all my brakes/engine from my other mini which has a front/rear brake system.

Shall I change it to front/rear brake system?

What do you guys think is the best?

New setup has 7,5" brake discs in the front, and drums in back.

I would prefer front/rear, because I know these works.

I think both have there pros and cons?

I would like to hear your opinion.

p.s.: I will be pulling an Eriba puck later on with it.

If there's no MOT issue, then I'd suggest Front / Rear split is better.

Just as I was thinking.

I also prefer the front/ rear setup.

Thanks folks ;)

My clubman estate had the diagonal split circuit brakes. When I fitted front discs I converted it to front rear split. The factory only fitted diagonal split for a less than a year before changing to front / rear split.

Can't link of any pros for diagonal, a Mini with one front brake is almost as bad as no brakes.

Maybe it's just me, but I tend to think them worse. They tend to want to steer - quite heavily - when under brakes towards the one working brake.

So while you may not smash in to the guy in front, you'll take out the guy beside you.
