Carlos

sorry that doesn't seem to help me,

I already had a look and that's why I posted

the tube is small and a little short

and the opening in the plastic bit is massive

where does the tube go ???

how does it stay on ???

The tubing you have looks too small.

That's the wrong tube if it goes all the way to the front

Looks as though someone has done a 'fix it' job running the small pipe to probably a home-made adapter on the air duct into the cabin - how does it look at the front end, is there a larger adapter going onto the air scoop or just the small tube to the front somewhere?  Probable reason is that the correct large tube can be a PITA (pain in the a***) to connect up securely (or is that just me and the lack of space in my garage?).

Best place for.that full assembly.... The bin!! All it does is give you a cold face in winter, would be better to remove it all, weld the holes up and if you need fresh air in the cab just open a window

@Cal

actually I don't ever use it as you say - I love driving with both windows down most of the time

almost get the mg-b type feeling

my car is bog standard so I'd be surprised if it's been fiddled with - something I think fell off, but I wasn't able to find it on the street

the front of that skiny tube is connected up to a piece by the front grill, the front part is held on with 2 ties and a a flimsy steel band that you just bend by yourself

- I think something has fallen off but I cannot SEE the shape of the part anywhere, if someone has a JAP SPI mini and would like to take a picture of the RH side air duct system I'd be very grateful

worst case is I'll have to butcher a pvc bottle and tape it up but chances are it'll bounce around and fall off

As above - looks like someone has bodged an earlier style smaller tube at the front to the later larger type unit at the back of the wheelarch and whatever was connecting the two has fallen off - you'd probably be better off doing away with the plastic box/elbow and replacing it with a custom connector made from a disc of metal/plastic with a hole in the middle for a short stub pipe the correct diameter to go inside the pipe you've got (or a longer replacement if it wont reach) .

Hmm,

I see usually that black plastic box is fitted with a bigger metal flexi tube,

but mine is all tidy up at the front and looks correct

I think some kind of joint is missing and I would guess it's a standard piece

I need a visual of the original really
