I've got an early '91 carb Cooper, and I want to get my tracking done, is there any thing different getting this done on a mini? I'm over on Mallorca an they can be a bit heavy handed, when I had my front wheels balanced the buggered my wheel bolts using a metric socket on the windy gun! I'm assuming the nuts for the tracking are imperial and I'll sort out what is needed and take it along! Any words of wisdom?

Nothing much, if they are that heavy handed if look at getting my own tracking stuff, although the it won't be as accurate as lasers at least it you who has done it.

I'd find another garage

I had my tracking done at my favourite old school garage, where they used an old style method using mirrors etc. They did an excellent job and after a few thousand miles I still have perfectly wearing front tyres.

Track rod end lock nuts 3/4" but 19mm works just as well.

Nothing else needed for tracking,

I bought a Gunson Trackrite wheel alignment gauge.

You can do it yourself then.

I've got two straight lengths of 3" x 2" timber each 5ft long, a 6" steel rule and a tape measure and I do it myself for free.
