Does anyone have an idea of what the MOT requirements are for a 1981 Van.

Mainly does it need fog & Reversing lamps?

That useless light for checking the brake pedal on the dash?

Hazard warming light switch?

I'm not sure if you need a hazard light switch but i would defiantly want one regardless of the age and requirement. If you break down at night on a quiet road, nobody is going to see you.

Valid point Ben I just want to keep the switches on the dash to a minimum.

http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_140.htm

Hazard warning devices are not required on vehicles first used before 1 April 1986, but if one is fitted it must be tested.

reverse lights are not required or tested for MOT

I'm sure the brake fluid level light & test switch is a requirement if fitted - but can't find the date that started

According to the testers manual

as long as the car is registered before 1 April 1986

I thought they were required from the 70's , as a lot of cars had them way before 1986

Your rod change should have a switch for the reversing light
