Hi, I am getting engine interference through my newly fitted radio when the engine is running. The radio sounds fine when the engine is not running, so I'm quite sure it's not an arial earthing problem. I've been told I need to fit a suppressor to resolve this interference- where/how do I fit it?

Thanks

A suppressor fits onto your coil. :highfive: Barrel shaped thingy, with a small wire going to the coil. ;D

Would this work? http://www.ebay.co.u...%3D874558169517

It states that it fits to the alernator but I'm guessing this is the correct type of suppressor that could be used on the coil as you mention?

Thats strange as we had interference on my 1275 but only when the engine was running, removed the Amp and its been fine ever since!

There are two types of interference.

Is it "clicking" or "whirring"?

Someone told me way back in time to fit a large dia earth wire to the radio as this helps to suppress the interference, any truth in this?

ChopperHarris, it is a clicking noise. Speeds up when accelerating
