Hello, I am going to need to buy some new 4 pot brake pads, as mine have had it and as of my 998 eating it self covered in oil.

I have the minispares 4 pot alloy ones, what are good pads for these? Can't bring myself to buy the green stuff ones as they are £50 and there are so many difference views on whether green stuff are good.

So what do people recommend?

Cheers

Heard people say mintex m1144 are really good, but looking at them they say they are race pads

I recently changed from Greenstuff pads to 1144's, my experience fitted to a weekend toy -

The Greenstuff pads are terrible when cold but don't deposit loads of dust on the wheels

The 1144's are amazing when hot but I struggle to keep the heat in them the big downside though is the brake squeal at low speeds

I'd suggest you just stick with the standard pads plus they're cheaper - http://www.minispare...px|Back to shop

that's because of changes to EU regs on formulation. Cooperman suggested 1144s to me and I have never experienced braking like it on a mini. They are superb BUT they do squeal a bit! They are what will be going on my project.

to be honest the 1144s are too noisey for a road car

Brake pad squeal is acceptable for a rally or trackday car, but really annoying for a road car

I just switched my green stuff pads (minisport 4 pots) for standard mintex pads and so far (although its not been driven in anger) they are much better than the green stuff pads ever were.

Just as brakes getting too hot in use can be a problem, so can brakes running too cold.

If you are running 4-pots and maybe vented discs (although not necessarily so) you may need a softer pad unless the car is for competition. For road cars the best brakes for a light car like a Mini are standard discs & callipers with up-graded top quality pads. For 4-pots on a road car with solid discs standard good quality Mintex or Ferodo would be ideal.

I ran ebc's yelowstuff pads which were great after about 5-10 hairy miles, then swapped to mintex which were better but still not brilliant out of the box so bought some pagid pads which other than the brake dust I have no complaints about. Also running 4 pot calipers with solid discs under 10in wheels. 70-0 is surprising :)

Hey mate, I'm running the minispares alloy 4 pot calipers, can you recommend the pagid pads? If so where did you get them from? Cheers
