Can you use 501 capless wedge led bulbs in
Wipac halogen headlights for the side lights?

those leds look cool and I guess run on lower watts than the standard bulb

do you have a tuto to fitting and any mods that need to be done

From memory they are £50,complete sealed units. Just solder the original side light wiring to the red and black cables on the back of the units, then fit an h4 bulb (providing you already have h4 fittings in you headlight loom) something decent like osram nightbreaker+ works well. Providing your loom is compatible already, the cost of the 2 units and bulbs would be about £65.

I've no problem with my standard headlights but I'm not happy with the tail lights, they seem like pin pricks even when the bulbs are new.

Where can I get some bright LED bulbs?

are your bulbs the right wattage and the reflectors clean and untarnished?  Normally standard tail lights are perfectly adequate.

Beware some led bulbs are very directional and don't look bright if you are not in the "focal" point zone

If you're talking about the small light inside the main beam yes you can. I have them in mine. We call them parking lights over here. They give a different color than the main beam but look pretty good.
