I've been trawling over the net for the info the last few days, the handbook just states VW own brand. I can't see if I need the 5/30W or 10/40W. Any VW gurus on TMF?

The gold bottled vw genuine oil (ZGB115QLB00501) is 5w30
The silver bottle is 5w40
5w30 is the long life stuff used in 2.0 Petrol, 1.9 Diesel, 2.0 Diesel, 2.5 Diesel, 3.2 Petrol engines.

Thanks Jordie. Is my engine the hydraulic tappet jobby? I understand that that would need 5/30W? Otherwise it's 10/40W as far as I can make out.

Not sure on the engine code, aint a v-dub person. Just worked with a vw client and remembered they sold shed loads of this oil online.
I could check ETOS tomorrow to determine the tappet type if you have the vehicle reg?
