drove up a drive way that had a shitty gate centre support!!!!! it caused the downpipe to blow and the intake  :mmkay:  :mmkay:  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(

so heres my fix sorry new to this will get better at posting I'm always fixing our classic minis.

1. Jack car up correctly and safely onto Axle Stands.

2. Now you need to free the down pipe from the intake manifold 3 nuts (imperial) 1/2 hex shape works best with 1/4inch drive. Also their is one nut that is hard to get to you will need a UJ to get in on the angle. Also excuse my horrible extension set up ;)

3. Now the downpipe is free it will be ok to rest on a old box, Now to top of the vehicle Remove the famous Injection air box by the 3 philips screws.

now you should have something like this

4. next step is to lube up with your favourite lubing solution

5. now start to remove all loom connectors i.e. injector electrics 02 sensor all things that would stop you removing the intake.Attached File  IMG_1129.JPG   47.23K   17 downloads

5A. remove air box support bracket 5/16 socket

6. Now remove fuel in and return lines also a 5/16 socket once lines are removed put them out of the way where their is no paint as petrol will spill out.Attached File  IMG_1135.JPG   54.57K   18 downloads

7. time to remove manifold nuts now easiest way is to use a gear wrench 13mm to remove not to worry if the studs come out we can lock to nuts together and break them free, Also on the far left and far right they have 2 13mm different shape nuts with washers careful not to loose them the middle ones all all uniform with a thick back to them. Attached File  IMG_1137.JPG   74.3K   18 downloads

8. to remove the manifolds you have to remove the intake first give it some persuasion then lift out a problem i had was the brake servo line don't know how to remove the line so not going to brake anything trying so i have sat manifold up out of the way still connected to the servo. Now time for exhaust bit more tricky for me their is vacuum vent pipes connected to the heat shield you have to remove 2 bolts one from the exhaust heat shield i rounded mine so left it in place but left me having to remove vent pipes with the manifold.

look how much meat in on this manifold in need of a port and polish job soon ;)

9. time for clean up of parts i removed the stubborn heat shield bolt and wire wheeled all my nuts ;) then gave the exhaust a touch of VHT paint. Made life easy and fitted the vent hoes back on now that i got them free,

10. time for new gaskets then follow these steps in reverse order. USE YOUR HEAD BE GENTLE

HALFRAUDS home kit was all i used.
