Hi,

I removed my old rad yesterday, fitted the new one and filled with coolant, i allowed the engine to run up to temp with the rad cap off to get rid of any air left in the system, all seemed well... until after a short journey the temp gauge was way over the middle.

Today i checked the coolant level and it was lower than the fins so there was no visible coolant level, i topped up to just above the fins and again after a short journey the temp continued to rise above the middle. There was also a substantial amount of coolant on the ground with a trail leading behind the car. (looks like its coming from the cap or around that area)

Does anybody have an idea what could be causing this, i thought i could be the radiator cap but this was the one i used on my old radiator and it worked fine with that one. could this be wrong?

I have fitted this radiator: http://www.ebay.co.u...=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Sounds like air locks in the system, have you opened up the heater to hot and checked the hoses to confirm flow and run it up with the cap off with a slight increase in idle speed
