Sorry if I`ve stuck this in the wrong place but here goes. Has anybody had any experience with 10 x 6 Cosmic wheels over 7.5" discs? I`ve just done my conversion and as I was putting a nice shiny new wheel on it struck me that it may be binding. Even in the air it never moved as \I nipped the nuts up yet I could turn the disc the other side by hand. Also I noticed that the wheel sits a tad further in the arch than the Superlite it replaced. Any thoughts anyone? I don`t want to road test it if all is not well.

Is the inside of the wheel catching the caliper? You may be able to space the wheel out slightly to stop it catching

Put it this way - what I could see of it was clear, if only just but that`s usual. I think my next move will be to remove the wheel and see if the inner rim is marked at all. Thanks for replying.

As above, catching on the caliper, may be hitting a wheel weight?
Did it turn before hand? If it didn't turn before then it is likely that the 7.5 is rubbing on the 8.4 hub. If it's this then remove the disk and file all the way around the hub until it spins freely.

Oh blimey sounds like a lot of work in store. What puzzles me is that it`s a 7.5 that was converted to 8.4 and now back to 7.5 so it should be ok.

My 5x10 cosmics had the wheel weights stuck to the inside of the rim. Turns out that they have to be located very specifically or they jam against the disk (I think it was the disk). Luckily I found two that wheels that had the weights in the right place to fit on the fronts, the one I was having problems with went on the back.

Thanks for that, mine have weights on of course but the way things felt as I nipped the nuts suggest it`s something more complicated than that - it must be, this is ME we are talking about, lol. Weight till sunday (ha ha) and all will be revealed (I hope). ![]()

Ello folks. The answer to the sticking wheel problem was actually the new disc bosses fouling the bearing housing. Filing looked long, tedious.......and hard work so I went and bought an angle grinder and goggles. That made light work of things and the result was........................discs and wheels that turn, yay! ![]()
