So, after spending a ludicrous amount of time today trying to get my indicators to work I've given in! The indicators are not working at all, here's by discoveries;

-No power to indicator stalk, but hi-beam working
-Indicator stalk wiring goes through a 9 pin plug, strange that only some has power
-Can't trace wires as it's all wrapped up
-Where would the indicator stalk wires get there live from?

Mini is a 1976 Mini 1000, with a Metro engine.

Any help greatly appreciated :D

I'm embroiled in wiring at the moment - the wiring diagram in a Haynes manual is a good place to start.
If neither indicator works the indicator relay would be a good place to start.
Also check earth points to bodywork in engine bay.

Cheers guys, it's a 1976 Mini 1000, with a 1275 Metro engine.

That's also something I should have mentioned, I can't find a hazard light switch anywhere! Only found 1 relay, swapped for a working on, but made no difference.

The wiring has been fiddled about with :/. I'll have a scout of my Haynes tomorrow, annoyed with it atm, so off to the pub haha

If you cant find a hazard switch then you will have to trace the light green with brown trace wire back from the indicator switch. Because the supply on that wire comes via the hazard switch

Check if your brake lights work because these should be feed from the same fuse. That should indicate if the fuse has blown or not. This is all assuming it is still wired as factory

It is unclear to me what year hazard lights became standard on the Mini.  Some things I found suggest 1976 was the transition year.  Therefore... your Mini may or may not have hazard lights.  Assuming it does not, follow the turn signal switch green/brown wire back as Craig suggested.  It should eventually take you to the flasher unit where it will connect to the flasher's "L" terminal.  With the ignition on, you should be able to measure 12V between either flasher terminal and earth.  If you do not find 12V there, then you need to go back to the fuse box.  Other items that share the same fuse as the turn signals include the fresh air ventilation fan, brake lights, and the wiper motor.

If you find you do have a hazard switch let us know.  As Craig said, (when fitted) the hazard circuit feeds power to the normal turn signal circuit so a problem with the hazard switch can defeat the turn signal switch.
