Hi;

Does anyone have any tips on spraying U-POL Gravitex? i.e. does it need warming up in hot water first? AKA the tips in this guide albeit for a different type?

I'll be using a Shutz Gun but some areas I will need a smooth finish so I will be spraying it in an LVLP Gravity Gun using Cellulose Thinners - what's the mix ratio? is it 50 / 50 or less?

Also what would be the best needle? I have 1.8 and 1.3?

Thanks in advance

I think it would help warming it up to make it a bit runnier, I think it says on the bottle the ratio and the gun needle for the different finishes .

I warmed mine up as i was applying it in the middle of winter with temps in the minus range. Now as for making it smooth try a 50 50 ratio first then go from there. Cannot help with the needles too much but a 1.8 is quite large so maybe the one to use.

on the bottle:

orange peel finish - U-pol gun 1 (probably a shutz gun) 40 - 70 psi

Flat finish - use neat or with max 5% cellulose thinner , ideally with a gravity fed hun, fluid tip 2.5mm, 60 - 70psi.
