Has anyone recovered their door cards?

I was thinking of buying a few meters of this:

http://www.ebay.co.u...=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

and having a go with a staple gun! I've currently got the horrible grey velour type material that looks dirty and horrible!

Has anyone done anything else with their door cards?

Thanks

Nice material.

I've been thinking about changing the grey velour on one of my projects as well.

If the door cards are rough then I might try spraying black or similar.

I made some from scratch, I used vinyl spray Adhesive from B&Q for sticking the front and then hot glue for the back as I had no joy finding staples with 2-3mm legs.

I made my own Pokemon ones for my old mini and currently making some more for my estate :)

As above, I used fabric spray, then iron on tape for fabric around the edges :D

Use contact adhesive. A good one like Trim Fix that can withstand heat.

Use thin marine ply instead of hardboard, or at the very least seal the hardboard with PVA

Ask what optimise automotive use to glue theirs- and use something different.
Mine have come unstuck and flap around!

i didn't, just wrapped the material around the door card and stapled it tight it worked a treat i found using an adhesive over time it comes apart and looks bad

I agree with using thin exterior ply 3-3.5mm instead of hardboard, that is what I used and then I bought some coffee bean sacks from a guy who works at the docks, they cost me £1 each and took only 1 per doorcard. I used contact adhesive and after ! year now it still looks fine. let me see if I can upload  a piccie.

wont let me but here is a piccie of the boot just to give you an idea of the material that I used.
