Have one of those aston filler cap covers and I need to remove the tank to fix some rust underneath it, Can't for the life of me figure out how to get it off?

Likely to be three little grub screws in the neck, wind those out and remove the filler cap and the whole over cap assembly should pull off

There should be a few screws or  grub screws on the bit around the neck of the tank.

....that would be the small holes cover in rust, This afternoon will be fun!

Likely yes, very small Allen key required although could be metric or imperial depends who made the cover, go easy as the grub screws don't take much to round out especially if they are rusty, get some plus gas or some other penetrating oil in there first and good luck!

Under the catch and hinge end there should be two small hex head grub screws which you undo and then slide the cover off the cap, if it's like mine

Thanks lads! Got it off, had to drill them out. Nightmare. Each hole had a different screw in it!
